The MINE Project and team was represented at the EDULEARN18: 10th annual International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies, which was held in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) from the 2nd to the 4th of July, 2018. As can be read at the conference website:
EDULEARN is one of the largest international education conferences for lecturers, researchers, technologists and professionals from the educational sector. After 10 years, it has become a reference event where more than 800 experts from 80 countries will get together to present their projects and share their knowledge on teaching and learning methodologies and educational innovations. The 10th anniversary of EDULEARN is sure to be among the most successful education conferences in Europe.
Of the wide and intensive technical program, one session only was dedicated to Mobile Learning. This session was chaired by Teresa Cardoso (of the Universidade Aberta, LE@D, PORTUGAL), member of the Portuguese MINE team. She also presented some of the learning scenarios that have been developed within the scope of the MINE – MOBILE LEARNING IN HIGHER EDUCATION project [Bastos-et-al_EDULEARN18]. She further presented the case of the Universidade Aberta (Portugal) – UAb, by referring to a preliminary analysis of the data collected by a survey developed by the Portuguese MINE team. She highlighted that “Students use the digital tools (namely forums at UAb Moodle and the e-mail) for educational purposes based primarily on the teacher’s recommendation.” [Cardoso-Bastos_EDULEARN18]
Other topics and sessions were related to mobile technologies and pedagogies, which makes the adventure of learning, teaching and researching quite an enriching ativivity!
